What I’ve Learned

Art Direction

Experience art directing a large variety of projects, including but not limited to branding, photo shoots, major corporate communications, state-wide out of home advertising campaigns, social media creative, as well as way-finding and monument signage. Worked closely with a team of writers, photographers, designers, and printers to execute projects from conception and delegation to completion.

Brand Development and Governance

Partnered with an award-winning branding agency to develop and execute a multi-million dollar rebrand initiative for Virginia Premier in 2017, and was tasked with brand redevelopment at LoopNet. My responsibilities have included brand governance, brand standards refinement, customer personas development, image strategy development, and pushing the brand to better serve our organization’s and members’ needs.

Project Management

Worked with my team to evaluate and assist in the implementation of Asana and Wrike for the whole of the Marketing Department (utilizing a variety of project management tools, including Gantt charts, Kanbans, Lean, and Agile)

Digital Marketing

Experience creating and maintaining websites through platforms such as Wordpress and Squarespace, teaching myself Sketch to the point of proficiency, producing assets for various web teams, developing social media campaigns and managing a monthly content creation calendar, and improving design and open rates of email marketing initiatives, primarily through Campaign Monitor.

Photography Direction

Art directed several photo shoots including corporate portraiture and lifestyle photography. Responsibilities included coordinating with both contracted and internal photographers, producing shot lists, selecting and scheduling talent, and leading photo direction throughout the shoot.

Print, Garment, and Promotional Product Production

Over half of a decade working closely alongside vendors to execute production of both simple and complex projects alike. Making paper selections, developing product packages for high end clients, attending press checks, handling proof sign offs, and creating and negotiating bids were just some of my interactions with our vendors.
